Nick
Owner & Director — 25 Years Experience
Before Nick ever picked up a shovel, he was managing people at McDonald's and it turns out that's one of the best foundations a business owner could have. In fact, at one stage Nick had his sights set on owning his own store. Understanding people, earning their trust, and knowing how to bring out the best in a team are skills you can't learn from a textbook, and Nick brought all of that with him when he made the move into landscaping.
Making the leap into a new industry, Nick completed a mature aged apprenticeship and never looked back. After working his way through and eventually managing other landscaping businesses, it didn't take long for him to realise he could back himself to do it on his own terms and while it wasn't a McDonald's franchise, the business owner dream was very much still alive. With the support of his wife Lauren, he built Change of Scenery Landscapes from the ground up and what they've created together is something genuinely special. A household name in the community, recognised not just for the quality of the work, but for the reliability and character of the team behind it.
Nick went on to study landscape design at TAFE, and with Lauren being an interior designer, it's safe to say the creative mind is well and truly at work both on site and at home. That combination of formal design training, 25 years of hands on experience, and a good eye runs deep in the household an eye for detail and extensive experience in the field shows in every space Change of Scenery creates.
More than anything though, Nick is deeply proud of his team. He sees the hard work Danny, Matt, and Caleb pour into every single job, and he doesn't take that for granted for a second.
When he's not on site or designing the next project, Nick is most likely on the golf course, planning the family's next adventure, or somewhere in the world already on one. Life's too short not to explore it.

Matt
Landscaper — 20 Years Experience
Danny introduced us to Matt which sounds simple enough, except Matt had been loyally working for the same landscaping company for 10 years. Persuading him to join us wasn't easy, and honestly, that loyalty tells you everything you need to know about the kind of person Matt is. When he finally made the move, we suddenly had two mates working side by side, and the combination of their experience and work ethic was something else entirely.
Matt has been with Change of Scenery Landscapes for 10 years now, and in that time he's become someone we are truly grateful for every single day. No fuss, no drama Matt just gets in, gets it done, and delivers an exceptional standard of work without needing to be asked twice. He doesn't take sick days unless he's at death's door, and even then we suspect he's considered turning up anyway.
What the work photos don't quite capture (getting a decent shot of Matt is like trying to photograph a kid on school photo day) is that he brings an infectious sense of humour to every single job. Always cracking jokes, always up to something silly, and somehow still the most productive person on site.
When Matt clocks off, he keeps himself just as busy swimming, running, racing BMX, tearing around a go-kart track, and somehow fitting in a love of country music on top of it all. Family comes first though, and everything he does, he does with the same quiet dedication he brings to work.

Danny
Landscaper — 8 Years Experience
Danny completed his apprenticeship with us and has been a valued member of the Changeof Scenery family ever since he even introduced us to Matt, so we owe him double. WhenDanny fell in love, he did it properly: moved to Bathurst, got married, built a house, andwelcomed two beautiful baby girls into the world. We were happy for him, truly. We were also not above sending him a birthday message every single year to remind him how much we missed him. Eventually, we wore him down and we couldn't be happier to have him back on the tools where he belongs.
When he's not transforming outdoor spaces, Danny is a devoted family man who loves his rugby league, running, and the gym.

Caleb
Landscaper — 4 Years Experience
Caleb came to us on the recommendation of another industry expert, which is always a good sign and he's done nothing but prove them right. The newest member of the team in terms of experience, Caleb completed his apprenticeship with us last year and has shown himself to be a capable, confident tradesman who slotted into the Change of Scenery crew like he'd always been here.
Don't let the fresh face fool you Caleb holds his own alongside some seriously seasoned landscapers, and his enthusiasm for the work shows every day on the job.
Off the tools, Caleb's priorities are pretty clear: the gym, Up & Go's, snacks, his animals, and weekends with his mates. We respect the simplicity. We also respect that he always has a snack on him.
